Porcelain Fixed Bridges

Designed to match the look and feel of your natural teeth, a fixed bridge is a non-removable dental appliance that replaces one or more missing teeth. It consists of two crowns that serve as anchors to hold your new artificial teeth in place. A bridge also helps prevent any remaining teeth from shifting out of position.

Steps to a Fixed Bridge

  1. During your first appointment, we take a detailed impression, or mold. A temporary bridge is affixed to protect your teeth while the permanent bridge is fabricated.
  2. At the second visit, the new porcelain bridge is put in place and inspected. Often, it will only be temporarily cemented in place to help your teeth and tissue get used to it.
  3. At a follow-up appointment, the bridge is permanently cemented.

Caring for a Dental Bridge

Detailed care instructions will be provided at your final appointment. Proper oral hygiene, a healthy diet and regular visits to your dentist will help ensure that your fixed bridge will last for many years.
