Porcelain Crowns (Caps)
Porcelain crowns are tooth-shaped caps used to repair and restore broken, decayed or fractured teeth and fillings, as cosmetic enhancements, or to cover a root canal. Matching the original shape, size, and colour of a tooth, a crown covers the entire visible portion of the tooth, essentially protecting and strengthening it.
Steps to a Crown
- During your first visit, we take a detailed impression, or mold and a temporary crown is applied.
- The crown is produced.
- During your final visit, the new crown is cemented to your tooth and any adjustments are made to ensure proper spacing and fit.
Caring for a Crown
Detailed care instructions will be provided at your final appointment. Proper oral hygiene, a healthy diet and regular visits to your dentist will help ensure that your crown remains strong for years.
